Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Hi again! I was thinking about the books I make for artists which have watercolour paper pages and decided that a larger book would be a useful addition to the range. This book has Bockingford watercolour paper pages and measures 10.5″ x 8″. The cover paper is a Japanese Chiyogami paper.
I went to see the movie ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’ last night. An excellent film starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman, who were all outstanding. The film describes how a little known congressman arranged funding and support for the Muhajideen rebels fighting the Soviet occupation in Afghanistan. You can read all about it at the IMDB.
I have a soft spot for Tom Hanks anyway as I will confess to a weakness for girlie romcoms and he has starred in some of my favourites ‘You’ve Got Mail’ and ‘Sleepless in Seattle’, both with fabulous Meg Ryan. I loved her in ‘French Kiss’ with gorgeous Kevin Kline (a film particularly close to my heart as part of it was filmed in Valbonne where my ex and I had a house, so I know the area well) and ‘When Harry met Sally’ with Billy Crystal. These are all my ‘comfort’ films. I watch them when I am feeling low and want something undemanding. In these films, you can believe that even though the road to true love is a tangled, complicated, occasionally upsetting but always funny one, eventually all will turn out right in the end.
In case you’ve never seen these lovely frothy nonsenses, here is a trailer for ‘You’ve Got Mail’.
and this is the scene in ‘French Kiss’ which is filmed in Valbonne, so you can see how pretty it is.
