Much of a muchness

Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Keep off the grass

This is another of those plastic coated cotton fabrics. It’s really fun and waterproof and wipeable. Which I found to be quite useful when I spilled a glass of juice over my work area. Oops.

It’s all very odd. I was checking my stats and for the last couple of days I have had a huge spike in page views. Everyone seems to be reading a post I wrote in September last year called ‘Back to the Drawing Board‘ – 1107 page views yesterday. It was all about an album I made for my (then) boyfriend’s son and was also the post where I first tried out the woven binding – which I repeated using foam a few days ago. Very odd indeed! Today, there is another spike, this time for another post in September called ‘Double the Fun‘. I don’t quite know why these old posts are suddenly so popular but I’m not complaining!

I’m going to a dinner thing tonight. As usual, I have been trying every item of clothing on in my wardrobe looking for something suitable to wear. It’s black tie so I need something dressy. My only problem is that I have put some weight on since Christmas, which I have been trying half heartedly to lose. When you have no will power, it’s hard, believe me. I think I have found the solution though….

Now that’s my kind of diet. Maybe I should exercise more but then there’s always the danger of this…..

….instead of this.

Now that’s what I call exercising to music. Very cool tune isn’t it? Well, these guys think so…..

I bet Mr Darcy likes you just the way you are ……….. probably.
Anyway, it’s a proven fact that exercising is VERY bad for you. Damaged joints, heavy breathing, SWEATING for goodness sake. I agree with the dress size thingy – I’ll buy one tomorrow.

Good for you on the spike in page views. Mine has been relatively constant at around 150 a day. What I have noticed is most of my comments come at night. So, I post something then feel like I’m totally alone and no one likes me anymore until I check in the morning and see the comments.

Have fun tonight. The party sounds very posh :)

I’ll be watching The Planet of the Ood

Girl, you’re off the charts today! LOL!

    That’s why I don’t exercise too.

That spikey thing happened with a few of my posts once too! I never figured it out … I chalked it up to robots, LOL! I’m sure yours were real people though.

Hope you had fun at dinner and I’m sure you looked stunning!

oh I’ve heard that song before and really liked it but that’s the first time I’ve seen the film clip. makes the boring old treadmill look like a lot more fun

DP – it did occur to me that an ex-boyfriend would notice I had put weight on whereas any new boyfriend would only know me like this, so would think THIS weight was my normal weight…..just what I don’t need another disincentive to lose weight :-) I’m sure you’d look lovely in a nice frock….

SW – the party was fun! Dancing in high heels does bad things to my knees though these days….
I know what you mean about waiting for comments – you do very well to get in first so often! It must be the time difference is in your favour.
That was a good episode of DW – very moving…. hope you enjoy it. BIG surprise in tonight’s episode – can’t wait to see it, they have been trailing it all week on the BBC……

Jenny – I love the cartoon – such a great excuse to go out and buy more clothes….although it does seem a bit defeatist! I’m going to give myself a stiff talking to and make myself eat less and exercise more – how hard can it be?!

Nurse Myra – I love that video. It is so clever, I wonder just how long it took them to perfect it…..

I need to loose a stone … lost 6lbs and some how the darned 6lb are back….. going to the gym bores me to death …. yogalates was working then I had a 4 week break. I guess that is what did the weight gain again…. :-(
Well I have 2 1/2 months before I go to Madrid …… so if at first you don’t succeed……….. :-)

Sucking seeds is an excellent way of losing weight and BTW, there are more calories in a bottle of wine than in 2000 deep fried Mars bars – and that’s a fact – tee hee.

    Hi Diane,

Back during my first year in college, we had book covers that read “Keep On The Grass”, which was quite popular then. Err, I’m not referring to the book cover…LOL!

The video of those guys dancing to exercise was choreographed very well. If that’s how the treadmill is used, many would join in – although i doubt if the unit would last very long – think 300 lb people jumping around and all over it. But the clip is like a scene that would fit a Mr. Bean film, where Rowan Atkins would begin to enjoy himself doing mischief without any intention of losing weight. :-)

Nice book cover though. What if the images were those of cannabis….. never mind! :-) –Durano, done!

I have some peak in visits sometimes too. Of course the biggest one was when I was third for the best European blogg, but otherwise its often when friends are helping me with a Stumble Upon.

Hope you had a great dinner – have had a great weekend and I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

70steen – my weight varies by about half a stone between winter and summer but I can’t seem to budge it this year. Eating too much doesn’t help :-(
I’m trying to go for walks to exercise a bit more but it’s still not going – and I’m going to Mallorca in a weeks time……eek!

DP – I thought wine was supposed to be good for you…..

    Durano – you are naughty!

I’d love to have a go at using treadmills like that but I’m not sure my local gym would approve…or that they have that many treadmills anyway.

Renny – I’m trying very hard not to be obsessed with stats. I’m only intrigued when really odd things happen – like weird search engine terms or sudden spikes. Otherwise, I don’t mind. Honest.
Now I’m just off to check my stats make some lunch :-)

Daddy Papersurfer – you bet me to it!
Mr Darcy I’m sure will be delighted with whatever you wear (or not…) smut smut smut!
So when do we see Mr Darcy as a book cover……?

  12. nursemyra May 12, 2008 at 11:04 pm

you’re going to mallorca? have a great holiday!

  13. Diane May 12, 2008 at 11:32 pm

Kylee – I might even make you a Mr Darcy book cover – Colin Firth, Laurence Olivier, Matthew Macfadyen – all gorgeous!

Nurse Myra – yes, I am off on an adventure next week. News to follow…..

  14. Teresa May 13, 2008 at 2:40 am

Can’t wait to hear about your adventures!

    My sis and I were weeding for 2.5 hours today so I’m not as fond of anything with grass in it. :}

Really funny rock video; I don’t think I could ever do that on a treadmill.

I am going to post about my studio–I promise! I just wanted to wait until you got back from your trip. Either today or tomorrow, look for my answers. Glad you’re back!
