I was tagged by Kylee over at Bijoux and Banter with this meme. It’s my punishment for not posting yesterday! Actually I reckon you are the ones who are being punished having to read even more ‘stuff’ about me :-)

It’s called ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’ (with apologies to both Abba and Alan Partridge) and I have to answer all these questions so that you get to know me better. Well, I reckon you know probably as much as you would want to by now, but just in case there is anything else – here goes.

I was also rummaging through my links at Technorati, and I found this which I almost missed, so apologies if I am late in acknowledging this.

This was given to me by the Political Cat who said Much of a Muchness

gives me beauty that soothes my soul (confession: I do love paper)’.

So, a fellow paper-holic :-)

I am supposed to pass this onto 10 blogs that I consider to be excellent blogs. I am going to cheat here slightly. I am giving this to all the bookbinding/book arts/paper artists blogs which are listed on my ‘Links’ page. They are all beautiful, inspiring and creatively excellent, so I am leaving it to you to see if you are on that ‘Links’ page – how idle is that?

Now then, talking of being idle. Have you heard about the ‘Hawaiian Chair’? It is the latest exercise craze. You can keep fit while sitting down. How cool is that? Here is Ellen Degeneres trying one out….

I think I’ll stick to tennis….. :-)

That Hawaiian Chair is too much. Is that for real? It think I’d get motion sickness on the stupid thing.

I think that book is my favorite one you made in a while. I like the pattern on the front and the inside cover matches it nicely.

For #33, I always wanted an Audi TT, but I don’t think they make a model that you can stick a baby seat in! :)

  2. Dylan February 26, 2008 at 5:59 pm

I LOVE the Gotan Project…must dig that out tonight!

  3. Diane February 26, 2008 at 6:19 pm

Paul – apparently so! It looks most uncomfortable and apart from looking totally ridiculous, I can’t see that you would get much work done using it!

I like this book. I think I like the more modern papers more than the more traditional Japanese ones (although some of them are so pretty)

I have a 2 seater car. I thought now the boys were all grown up I could indulge myself – it’s fun but SO impractical really. I end up driving home with the front passenger seat full of shopping because the boot/trunk is full. Then the car beeps at me incessantly because it thinks that there is a passenger who is not wearing a seatbelt….

Dylan – I love Tango music – and their modern take on it is fantastic. I love them – especially ‘Revancha del Tango’ and ‘Lunatico’. Here in the UK, their music is being used in lots of TV ads – very annoying – I liked it before that !

Bummer, I tried to watch the video and it tells me that it’s no longer available.

Funny you should mention spiders, because just as I was sitting here (trying to load the YouTube), this little bugger scurries across the printer. Now it’s wedged itself into the crevice of the lid – as though I couldn’t see it. It’s one of those fast moving ones too. Now I have to get the vacuum cleaner…

I’m so honored to be tagged! (And now I have that Abba song running through my head…) Would you prefer I answered here in the comments section or at my blog? :)

The blue circles theme is very mod and attractive, BTW!

  5. laketrees February 26, 2008 at 9:37 pm

the video is hilarious Diane….she is such a funny comedian !!!
I was tagged on this meme yesterday :) by Lyn….so I am working on it…ha just when I got all my memes and tags finished and ready to post…this one lands in my reactions at Technorati…I think I’ll have a look in my archives as I vaguely remember answering these questions before….though it might have been an email…
like the blues in the book and the polka dot inside cover is a lovely contrast….
ok off to finish this meme :=P
ps how come you are allowed to eat hot cross buns now …I thought we were supposed to wait for Easter ;)

  6. Diane February 26, 2008 at 9:55 pm

Teresa – not sure why you can’t see it. It plays for me and Kim has just watched it – very odd. Try looking up Ellen Degeneres and the Hawaiian Chair or at least check out the chair on their own web site. It’s hysterical!
I hate spiders. Nasty little critters. Too many legs.
Do it on your blog I think it does take up a lot of room :-)
    Looking forward to your answers!

Kim – I’ll let you off then – you only have to do it once :-)
I think you tagged me in a similar email a while back….!
Glad you can see the video – it made me laugh a lot!

In the UK, they start selling hot cross buns just after Christmas (which incidentally starts at the beginning of October these days) Madness!

  7. Teresa February 27, 2008 at 12:15 am

Ok, still won’t let me see it, so I’ll head to YouTube and search. Heeey, are they picking on me? ;)

I’ll work on the Knowing Me thing and let you know when it’s up.

I have a hot cross buns recipe, and if you talk about it often enough, I may be tempted to go make them!

  8. Diane February 27, 2008 at 12:38 am

How very peculiar. Paul who is in the USA has seen it and Kim in Australia and I can still see it on various computers – PCs and Macs, so I have no idea why you can’t see it. All very odd. :-(

Hot cross buns, hot cross buns, hot cross buns.
Now you have to make some!

  9. GO! Smell the flowers February 27, 2008 at 6:28 am

    Hi D,

Congrats and hope you’ve got room for another award!
A flower smeller badge awaits you at flowers and we truly thanks you for continuing to read the GO!ngs on at the community…..

    Cheers D,

    From all the gang.

  10. Lunes February 27, 2008 at 9:02 am

Thanks Diane for taking part – some great answers too.. I’ll follow the links to see what they come up with! That Colin guy at Life has a lot to answer for!

  11. dianeca February 27, 2008 at 10:17 am

See, now I have learned so much about you!! I am a barefoot person too and I play tennis from time to time!! Congratulations on your award, I do so agree…excellence!! And creativity to match!

  12. Diane February 27, 2008 at 10:37 am

Jim&Em – Thank you. Go!ngs is the right word for it :-)
Let’s hope the new look GSTF brings a more peaceful, settled time. Certainly the forums should keep the guys who like a good old argument/debate happy. Something for everyone :-)

Kylee – It was fun. I did wonder why 39 questions and the mathematician in me desperately wanted to add one and make it a nice round 40…. sad but true.

DianeCA – now then, maybe we could play barefoot tennis! It would have to be on grass though :-)
Thanks for your very kind comments – always appreciated.

  13. DrowseyMonkey February 27, 2008 at 5:15 pm

Ooohhh….a gentleman caller … I’m so curious now. Well really, I’m just nosey.

So, Diane … thanks for passing along the longest tag…lmao! :D Just kidding … I love tags…will get to this one in tomorrow’s post. Thanks!

  14. DrowseyMonkey February 27, 2008 at 5:17 pm

Oh…and yes, #31 … knowing that I AM impressed that you visited my cousin’s spider pics. Eesh for sure ;)

  15. Olga, the Traveling Bra February 27, 2008 at 5:36 pm

LOL! If I got my blogmistress one of those chairs NO ONEwould be able to read my blog anymore! Her typing would look like this:
    Olga jfjp ;a;dk apfjfoD mfa;[[akajjw!!!!

  16. Diane February 27, 2008 at 7:33 pm

Brenda – fancy you picking up on that! And that’s all I’m saying at the mo’ :-)

Looking forward to reading your responses – but no more spiders – please? :-)

Olga – what an insane invention! It’s called the Hawaiian chair because it replicates doing the hula. Yeah, right! You can see the thought process going on there.

“Doing the hula gets you fit – but it’s an awful lot of effort. I know, let’s invent a chair and you can do it sitting down. And you don’t have to buy a hula hoop either – just spend a couple of hundred bucks on a chair…..”

  17. Teresa February 27, 2008 at 8:23 pm

On my next baking day, I’ll attempt hot cross buns. :) It always looks tasty whenever I look at the recipe.

I got the Knowing Me post up now! As you’ll see, I’m just an incredibly boring person. LOL!

Oh, and I could see the chair video on YouTube…still not sure why it won’t let me watch it from your post. Darn those computer gremlins and their strange magic.

  18. Teresa February 27, 2008 at 10:20 pm

I edited my blog entry to link back to your lovely blog. Sorry, forgot to do that earlier. That’s what happens when I rush and multi-task at the same time. :)

  19. RennyBA February 27, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Great meme – always good to know a good blog friend even better! And since you like champagne, watching tennis, driving a standard and have been mostly all over Europe, I hope you come and visit us in Norway one day too!

  20. Diane February 28, 2008 at 12:04 am

Teresa – I love your responses – and I love that you have a baking day – how wonderful :-)
I’m very lazy and buy my hot cross buns from good old Marks and Spencers….

Thank you for the link too. I really don’t get why you can’t view the video though – very odd, but at least you got to see what I was burbling on about :-)

Renny – I’ve never been to Scandinavia at all. I think it is a huge gap in my travels that will be remedied one day. After reading about all the wonderful food you eat in Norway – how can I resist?
And Diane CA plays tennis…… and you both like champagne…..
    :-)

  21. DrowseyMonkey February 28, 2008 at 8:32 am

lol … wordpress at my last 2 comments! I’m getting an error msg telling me I’m commenting too quickly and to slow down!

  22. DrowseyMonkey February 28, 2008 at 8:33 am

I meant ‘ate’ my last 2 comments. Anyway…I finally saw the video because wordpress wouldn’t let me watch it last time…it obviously doens’t like me! That chair is a riot…I want one!

    My meme is done, btw.

  23. Diane February 28, 2008 at 8:51 am

It wouldn’t let Teresa watch it either but it has let other people watch it …..most odd. Glad you saw it in the end! It’s insanely silly isn’t it:-)

You must be the fastest comment in the West, first time I heard that happening! WordPress seems to be having ‘issues’ at the moment. I’ll keep an eye on things….

Thanks for doing the meme, your answers are great! I don’t really want to be crayon either, now you mention it…..and 39 questions? I needed 40!
