Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Happy blog birthday to me!

It’s my blog’s first birthday today. So I wanted to try to send you a more personal message. I’m using Utterz – sound quality isn’t brill but you get my drift I think!

So in honour of my first blog birthday, I wanted to create an award to thank so many of you who have visited and commented on my blog over the last year and whose blogs I always enjoy visiting. So, deep breath, here we go….
Bridget Jones
I’m sure I will add to this list as I think of vital people I have missed but to you all – thank you! It’s been a great year and I’m looking forward to next year! If you want to pass this on to any of your own favourite blogs then please feel free to do so. If you just would like to keep it for yourself, then that’s cool too!
Here’s sending you all a big birthday hug :-)

    Happy Blog Birthday Diane,

Congratulations, one year is a feat! I came unto your site rather late for the year, but to be considered a friend is an honor and a privilege.

This is one site where I feel very much “at home”. You exude warmth in what you express, and in most instances, you are quite entertaining.

Thanks for the privilege, the honor, the friendship, and the enjoyment. I’ll drink to all that after this post. :-) –Durano, done!

I spotted the award you have given to me and was planning to save it for a couple of days so I can plan my 10 people to pass it on to!

Thank you so much for the award and the good wishes. I’m glad you enjoy my books and my blog :-)

  38. Eric "Speedcat Hollydale" February 24, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Whooo Hooo!!!!!! Great party over here. I brought more cake …. made by “me” with extra vanilla. Go ahead – have a BIG chunk.

I like the HUGS. There is one that is absent though … it’s the “man to man” “man to married woman” hug. These are the instructions.

    1. Stand at least one pace apart
    2. Quickly reach out and put hands on shoulders
    3. Pat twice, look at each other, then look at something else
    4. Drag feet on the floor and pull away
    5. Change the subject, but also mention why the “hugged” person is nice!

LOL!!!! You can break this rule for dads, realatives, and blogging pals.

I like sunflowers, and their seeds. “If the latter are still in the shell …. that’s too much of a muchness of work”. I like de-shelled, unsalted seeds. The salted ones make me choke :-)

Happy blogging birthday – Diane, got you on my mind. Remember that song?? I wrote it in the 70’s. It’s called H.B.B.D. “the happy blog song” I will sing it to you now, ” Happy blogging birthday – Diane, got you on my mind

See you at the next big celebration – and I will make a bundt cake with caramel and cocconut filling!!!! Hi Yahh!

    Thanks D,
    Eric

  39. Diane February 24, 2008 at 9:46 pm

DianeCA – You sing a lot better than I do!

Once I found my groove, I have really started to enjoy this blogging thing – and I have found so many lovely supportive blogging friends.

    I think I’ll keep going for another year….or two…. :-)

  40. Diane February 24, 2008 at 10:18 pm

Eric – have you been watching this?

That’s not you is it? :-)

I’m loving the cake – yum! The bundt cake sounds extremely luscious – I’ll look forward to that :-)

You should record the song on Utterz and let us all hear you sing it :-)

Have a great day! See you soon.

  41. pete February 25, 2008 at 5:15 am

Pete- unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view!) I don’t have a Dorset accent. I was born in Manchester and have lived all over England and Wales, Kuwait and France so I have a sort of hybrid mixed up sort of English accent :-) Sorry!
Listen to this BBC archive of regional accents
    BBC Voices

    Kim – merci beaucoup!

Paul – My pleasure – a bit nerve wracking and took lots of ‘takes’ but managed it in the end. Sort of. :-)

Hi Diane, and a belated Happy Blog Birthday to you! I’ve been kind-of away, organizing my mom’s 80th non-blog birthday, and it seems I’ve missed some parties everywhere. But… it’s never to late to come by and wish someone the best, especially someone as sweet and talented as you.

May your next year of blogging be twice as nice as the first.

  52. Diane February 27, 2008 at 12:17 am
