Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Default – cheerful…

If you think you are suffering from déjà-vu, then worry not, this is yet another of the Brazilian marbled papers this time a lovely red and salmon combination. It does go particularly well with the Japanese red and gold inner paper. This is another of the small 5″x 5″ books I have been making recently. I am now going back to the A5 sized books I usually make and I have had some thoughts about doing something a bit different, so watch this space.

I haven’t really been in the mood for Christmas at all but I was going to put on a brave face and get through it. I am hoping that the whole holiday period (which was originally going to be my boys and me), will turn out to be a much jollier time than I thought, as now we have an unexpected guest staying with us. We also have lots of invitations from our lovely friends so I am determined to revert to my usual ‘default mode-cheerful’ but I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind wishes. This is not the place to talk about what happened recently but I am OK and I appreciate your thoughtfulness more than I can say.

Whenever I feel depressed, I think there is nothing better than a good laugh to snap you out of it. So, on a brighter note, here are a couple of things that made me laugh recently.

My favorite color is red, so I love this book.

Also, that comic made me laugh.

I will have to post some more funny stuff on my blog to help cheer you up. I do have a short story called We Are Santa’s Elves up there that I was going to edit and post again, but I think is still funny anyhow.

The book has your name on it!

I look forward to reading the story – can I see it now or do I have to wait for you to post it?

    I know, I will go and have a look…..

Diane – You can go ahead and read it here http://strugglingwriter.wordpress.com/2006/12/21/we-are-santas-elves/

It’s meant to be silly, but people seemed to enjoy it. I have gotten better as a writer in the past year, so I’m sure it can be improved. Still, let me know what you think :)

I found it and read it and I loved it! Santa buying stuff off eBay – whatever next!

Let’s hope he doesn’t open up an eBay shop and start selling stuff – that would be too stressful – I prefer the personal touch!

Diane, that sounds as if this is the time to share my all-time-favorite cheer-up-animation:

(don’t forget to enable flash). This might reveal that I can be a very simple mind, but it really does make me laugh each time :)

Sorry to hear that things have not been well for you recently Di. I hope you enjoy Xmas nevertheless. Good to hear you’ll be more than just you and the boys, the more the merrier! :)

Astrid – that is funny. Thank you for sharing it with me I need all the cheering up I can get at the moment!

Bridget – Thank you, it’s all been a bit grim recently with the sort of problems I think Bridget Jones would sympathise with so all your wishes are very welcome. Us girls must stick together….

Hi there again! I’m so glad you are back blogging! I am fine…both my boys are back home now so I am happy, busy and distracted, that’s the main thing!

Thanks for the video. That’s just what it’s like at my house when I’m making a book……not!
