Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Snow joke, you know…

I thought it was time I used up one of the ready made book blocks I bought from Paper Source when I was in Los Angeles a while ago, so here is a fairly traditional binding, hopefully jazzed up a bit by the ‘Indian restaurant’ flock paper!

My order from Moo.com arrived today. The Christmas cards, use one of my photographs and the stickers feature a photograph of the Chinese seal which I have previously mentioned and which I am going to use when I wrap up my books in tissue, when I sell them (ha!)

Here are is a photograph of the cards and the stickers – they are fab – very good quality and the inside and back can be personalized. The image underneath is my original photograph, taken in Crans Montana in Switzerland last year.

I went off to play tennis this morning, pleased that the rain had stopped, the weather had improved and the sun was shining. Unfortunately, the court was frozen and we couldn’t play – aaagh! So annoying! Still, I suppose I can actually get on and write the Christmas cards instead…

I must just mention that I managed to get another review in Ed’s MyBlogLog Sunday this week. His review this time said

“Elf-like Diane has succumbed to Christmas and gone shopping for cards. Bah humbug. Judging by the weather reports in downtown Dorchester, it sounds like she had better ask Santa for a raft”.

Never was a truer word spoken in jest!

Finally, I tried out a web site called MyHeritage.com. They have a feature where you can upload an image of your self and they use it to tell you your celebrity look alikes. Here are mine. Apart from the fact, we are all grinning inanely, I have never seen a bunch of more different looking people but as most of them are younger than me, I am well pleased. Try it out – and let us know which celeb you look like :-)

Ohh… funny story about those custom christmas cards. Me and a couple friends at a party decided that it would be funny to make some of those with us on the cover completely naked, except for some stockings covering the important bits. Needless to say, the cards were never made, but there are some pretty risque pictures of me floating around. Sigh…

I wanted to do a few christmas cards but I never got around to finding my all time favorite Christmas photographs! :(

    Oh well. :D

I will try to do something soon. Next year I want to plan better. :P

Love the books as always! It’s always a treat to come and see what has made it’s way from your imagination to reality. :)

I like the different binding and the book looks nice.

I’m scared to see who I look like in the celebrity world. Eek!

Breath taken winter photos – could easily been in Norway – puts me in Yule mode (thanks for your comments on mind:-)

Frozen tennis court – sounds great; so why didn’t you brought your skaters in stead of the racket then?

    Btw: You look 100% You!

    Hi there, dashofpanache!
I wonder where the photos went – I’m guessing they ended up in the place where all the odd socks go….

Jon – and I love the icicle photograph very much indeed! Glad you are back blogging and sharing your talent…

SW – as a long time pirate, maybe Capn’ Jack Sparrow?

Renny – just enough ice to make it slippery not enough to skate on. Maybe you have invented a new sport – Ice tennis!

I like the chick in the middle. What’s her filmography?

  8. Diane December 11, 2007 at 10:12 pm

She had her early break when she played the Angel Gabriel in her primary school nativity play, followed by starring role as Mary the following year.

Following her startling success in such epics as ‘The Gardner Family Go to Scotland’ and the scintillating sequel ” The Gardner Family Go to Wales’, she retired from the silver screen and now lives in seclusion in Dorset.

Has been spotted recently in Marks and Spencer, Dorchester, wearing dark glasses and muttering “I want to be a lawn’ or something similar…..

    Diane,
Do you sell these books? If not have you heard of etsy.com? It might be a good start while your still building your own online store.

    Justin

I have been selling some, but they are piling up – I’ve missed the Christmas rush I think but I have signed up to Etsy and if I can get myself organised I am going to put some on there. As well as building my own store.

So much to do, so little time…. :-)

i’ve tried the ‘look-alike meter’ from heritage as well. the result was my baby looks more like dad by 4%. :D
    quite fun though..

  13. Diane December 13, 2007 at 11:47 am

Sounds like baby looks very like both of you really!

My sons are very different. The older one looks just like his father and the younger one looks just like me :)
