Much of a muchness

Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Ooh, it’s a blue one…

Well, Em over at Go Smell the Flowers said she liked baby blue, so I thought that would be the colour scheme for this book. It’s a very delicate Japanese paper and makes a pretty book. Tomorrow’s book is going to be the birthday book, so will be totally different to this one. I have great plans for it….

I can hear fireworks. There will be parties all weekend – I watched an amazing display in the field across the other side of the river which runs through my garden. It lasted ages and there were the most astonishing (and expensive) fireworks throughout. No idea who arranged the display but I got a free show! “Ooh! It’s a blue one!” I adore fireworks. It must be a hangover from childhood as I remember that Guy Fawkes night (November 5th) was just after my birthday and so I always associate fireworks with parties – presents – celebrations -happy times. I also think of treacle toffee and parkin (a very gingery dense but moist cake which I haven’t seen for years. I wonder if it is a Northern thing?), sparklers and rip-raps (firecrackers which are probably banned now as they were quite dangerous!)

I’m going to enjoy this weekend.

Once again, a blank page, followed by strimulet star photos from the Hubble Space Telescope.

Let me guess. You like bookbinding and crafts.

Nothing between pages about daily travails, or traveling on the left side of the road.

Enjoy the weekend. Fireworks burst, wherever you might be. :)

Nice blue book and great fireworks photographs. I hope you do enjoy your weekend. Mine will be full of writing (I hope), hockey, and playing with my daughter.

Creechman – Your comments about blank books and Freud have been noted! As I remarked elsewhere, my books are receptacles for other people’s hopes and dreams. I just have to get them out there to be filled up which I am working on!
Whenever I blog about life in general, my stats go down, so I’ll stick to my books and a bit of news!

SW- Hope you find time to do all you need/want to do. Have a great time! Have you stopped wearing the pirate costume yet?. I think we need to be told….

It’s crazy here. Bonfire Night is the 5th but there are displays for days either side of the 5th – another big one in town tonight, not so many tomorrow as it’s Sunday but loads again on Monday! Good job I like fireworks as it would be really annoying otherwise.

I took loads of photographs (without tripod – silly I know) and these are the best two! The others are rubbish.

Both my sons have just arrived home so we are going to have a nice day tomorrow. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I have finished two more books for tomorrow and my 100th post which I shall do in the morning.

    Woohoo! Two milestones!
