This book should be titled ‘Schizophrenia’ as it has a definite dual personality! I made the cover intending to use a different paper on the inside but number two son (who is a designer and knows about these things) said they didn’t go together at all. He has now gone back to uni in Leeds and I was left trying to decide what to put inside. I finally as a last resort chose this, as the colours do vaguely go together – well both have navy blue in them, don’t they?
I have to confess that I think this looks even worse than the first choice did but hey ho! upwards and onwards, must do better next time…

I think it is lovely as are all your designs and i want to place orders for christmas presents. Can you cope with the demand?
Love and kisses Jules xxxxxx
For you, my little sis, anytime! Just let me know how many!
xx
I think I will order eight you can decide which ones they are all lovely, maybe some jazzy and some flowery with the ribbon on.I have been telling everyone about your blog I love to read it because I can hear your voice saying the funny things you write about, and it’s almost like being with you! Does that sound very mushy ? Let me know how much I will owe you including postage
Lots of love me xxx
how sweet that your sis wants your books. :) ………..
you are right on the blue…..they do click…and the flowers on the inside cover are a nice surprise…….
sometimes we can over analyse and that takes away from the initial impact…I know with painting if I think it’s finished then it usually is ….. then I have to get rid of it or it starts to turn into the picture of Dorian Grey :)
I think you are right, Kim, I am too critical sometimes! I sort of ‘click’ with some of the books instantly and others take time to grow on me. I think maybe this one is a ‘grower’!
My first sales!! I have some friends here in Dorset who want to buy some when we meet next Tuesday too. And Claire in Los Angeles wants me to take some for friends.
Now the hard part – deciding how much to charge for them…(mates rates for you, Julie, of course!)
The sad bit is I shall be sorry to part with them – does that sound stupid?
No doesn’t sound stupid, but you can always make more ! away to Corfu for three weeks now, hey ho ! all that sun and sea shame about the sailing. xx
I know what you mean Diane…when ever my portraits leave…..I feel mildly depressed…….at the moment I’m suffering from Andre Rieu withdrawal :D
Jules, have a jolly holiday and don’t get seasick like I did!
Kim, you must spend far more time with each painting than I spend with each book so the separation ‘stress’ must be so much worse for you! I just like seeing a nice big stockpile of books and as they are all different, losing one seems to spoil my collection! Good job I have photographs of them all…
