Ups and downs

I played tennis all morning with three of my girlie mates (and for once played quite well!) It was a really good game and as the forecast had been rain, it added to the enjoyment that it turned out to be a fine day after all. I called in to see some friends I hadn’t seen for a while on the way home and had a cup of tea, so that was fun too. When I got back I got a phone call from someone asking me to do a web site for them. So far, so good.

Then it all started going downhill…the handle snapped on a carrier bag full of shopping as I was carrying it into the house and I broke the eggs I had just bought, I noticed someone had dented my car in the car park by opening their car door into mine and now, I have just had three notifications (rub it in, why don’t you!) saying I haven’t won the ‘Write about my perfect day’ competition on the ‘Go Smell the Flowers’ blog, so my bottom lip is quivering.

Only joking, the winning entry by Victorya was a worthy winner so she deserves the free flowers :-)

To compensate, I made a flowery book which I like, the colours are very pretty. More spots I’m afraid…

Sounds very similar to my Saturday. I didn’t break any eggs but nearly lopped off my finger. At least you were able to create a beautiful book like that and got to play some tennis.

There must be a lot more people not winning competitions than winning them! Looking on the bright side, you are quite right! Think positive!

    sounds awful Diane….
there’s nothing worse than having your car dented :(
….looking on the bright side…you are doing well in my competition….I think there will be good odds for the final draw…..
I love this book and such a wonderful combination of colours…….and I’m sure I can see my name on it :D

Kim! You always manage to cheer me up when I wake up in the morning as you are generally the first in with a comment! Vive la time difference!

And yes, checking out my blog is my first task of the day…! Probably the only joy of living by myself is getting to take my laptop to bed with me so I can check my e-mails and blog stats without getting out of bed :-)

You are most welcome! It was a fun contest, wasn’t it?

I hope to have a web site to sell my books soon so you might be able to have one of my books after all!
