I don’t normally like blue, I only like very bright shades like cornflower blue or that fabulous Yves Klein blue. I am more of a red, fuschia pink and orange person. I have been told that was because I am a Scorpio and they are supposed to like fiery, passionate colours. I do think it is interesting which colours people like. I hate green unless it is a very bright jade green or maybe a lime green. I like yellow because it is bright and cheerful, I dislike purple and lilac is horrible.
So the pattern seems to be that I prefer vibrant colour over subtle tones, red end of the spectrum over the blue end, light over dark. Although as with everything there are exceptions but only in certain colour combinations. For instance, I don’t like brown especially unless it is teamed with a duck egg blue, turquoise or orange.
I suppose that’s why I chose this particular theme for my blog. Clear bright colours against a white background, to me, fresh and clean.
So I’m wondering

I like this a lot. I don’t know my zodiac, but I really like the blue.
I chose my blog theme based on “the feel of it” and the fact I could customize my header.
I like your blog theme. Even though it is dark it’s a clean look, I don’t like ‘fussy’ pages and of course it has a red header!
I’m not going into the boys like blue and girls like pink thing because that’s too obvious! I do wonder though, about putting bows on books which I think are more ‘masculine’ – like this one. The one I made for my boyfriend’s birthday, the green leather one, (see the post ‘The Birthday Book’) I tucked the ends of the bow in. I’d be interested in your view on this!
I like bright colors. I’m not a huge pastel fan. I was avoiding blue for a very long time because it seemed to be a lot of people’s favorite color and it was everywhere. My favorite color, in general, is green. I always have trouble with this question because I don’t think of liking just one color, but color combinations. I like green with pink. I like green with purple. I like navy with biege…oops, too many combos. I’ll stop here. :)
My zodiac sign is Pisces.
I like green for my recycled website. I did decide on a neutral dominant color scheme for my wordpress blog because I wanted to emphasize the quality of the content over the design. I have another personal blog that is rose, pink, fushia because it reflects my quirky view of my journey towards a healthy lifestyle.
Green is very appropriate for a re-cycling web site, I think!
I agree about the design not dominating the content. I think that is why I dislike web sites or blogs which are too ‘busy’ and full of ads. I can’t be bothered to scroll down to find the content. It should be the main thing on the page! If you have to search for the latest post, I suspect most people won’t bother!
Ooh! The birthday book is very cool too. I’d imagine he liked it. As far as the bows go, they don’t really bother me either way, but I’m not one to get uptight about “masculinity” stuff.

I love that blue book. But my favorite color is orange and I am an Aries. I have a couple of blogs so I picked whatever was available. But my favorite one ended up being my main blog. I like the lime green and fuschia.
Aha! Finally! My ex was an Aries and his favourite colour was orange. Could be significant, could be coincidence – who can say?! As for lime green and fuschia- now you are talking, a great combination!
I like firey colours as well, especially orange, and as you can see from my website it was indeed a major factor in deciding on my wordpress theme! I do also like colours like green and blue. Vibrant colours are probably my favourite, but i don’t dislike pastel or dark colours. I like pretty much any colour as long as it isn’t combined with another that clashes.
Your blog is a great colour combination – I love the orange! And I know what you mean about clashing colours. I occasionally see blogs and web sites with seriously clashing colours and I find it hard to stay and read them. The content might be great but if the colour scheme is offensive, it really puts me off!
as I read your post … I’m an aquarius, and I’m rather attracted by blueish and greenish shades … although since several years, I’ve been more and more attracted by bright pink, red and orange. But my love definitely is the blue. When I do painting sometimes, mostly colorfield painting, it almost always is a variation on blue …
I’ve wondered why Aquarius is an Air sign and not a Water sign? I don’t really understand astrology at all! I am a Scorpio and am supposed to be a fiery personality but Scorpio is a Water sign not a Fire sign. Makes no sense to me. I just read my horoscope occasionally and that’s it!
I am seeing from the replies to my questions that the people who read my blog – who are mostly creative people, just like colour. Any colour as long as it is used imaginatively and harmoniously!
Which is just as it should be I guess. I see your preference for blue didn’t influence your choice of blog theme though?

Regarding your question about color schemes, MHO is that the overall harmony is the only key factor. Nothing compares with a well used & combined set of colors. I like your blog’s layout, fresh & fruity, yet clean & clear, to enhance the eye-catching quality of your creations, with most of which I’m in love, by the way… ;D
I don’t know if there is such thing for me as a favourite color (my sign is gemini, btw…) ; I like blogs looking like paper & stationery… Go figure…

I agree about the colour harmony. I don’t like the shade of green used on my blog on its own, but combined with the other the colours it looks fine!

The font I used is named “jazzposter”. Actually, my blog’s title is a logo I made using a free online logo generator : http://cooltext.com/
I picked a texture named “glossy” and chose the font in the alphabetical list… There are some extra tweaks too : size, colors & gradients, image format (I prefer to render my logo as a *.png w/transparency picture)… Et voilà !

Your blog is very passionate and dramatic – red and black and white are very asian colours aren’t they? The books I have made in red and black are amongst my favourites. I have to stop myself using those colours over and over again! I think that my ‘bad mood book’ is a favourite but got the least comments – interesting!
By the way, I’m wearing a red t-shirt and black trousers as we speak! Talk about colour co-ordinated!

I am a Capricorn. My fav colors are white, black, and a very dark and deep green. I also like a shade of brown that is similar to the natural color of the body. I like the colors of a military clothing :) Perhaps, I like orange as well.
I dislike purple, lilac, light blue.
I think Aquarious is an air sign for Pisces is next to it and fish are living in Water :)
I think it’s not only the main sign that counts, but the Ascendent, too.
oh and I hate, hate, hate pink.
