Much of a muchness

Things that make you go 'hmm'…

Blooming photographs

Have finally finished the web site I was building for a friend and can now get on with my life. I am ashamed to say that my new camera has barely been out of its bag these last few weeks. The most I have managed to do is photograph some of the rather stunning flowers which have sprung up in my garden. If I sound surprised, it’s because I plant things and then forget what I have put in. I am a useless gardener but love plants, so I buy plants which I like, usually online from Crocus, (www.crocus.com) plant them and then am astonished when they appear months later. My latest discoveries are some truly amazing poppies and peonies, which I am inordinately proud of. Benign neglect seems to suit them, thank God.

I tried to photograph them using my new Pentax K10D, but resorted to my little snappy Casio Exilim as a back up in frustration. I am in dire need of another lesson from L. I am determined not to use the automatic mode on my K10D as I think it’s cheating but it is very disheartening when the shots I get from my Casio are better than the ones I have taken with the hugely better camera. Still, I shall persevere and get there somehow. I have rather smart wedding to go to next month (deciding what to wear to this wedding is another trauma, to be addressed in another post) and I want to take some good photographs so that is my deadline for major improvement. Watch this space.

The photos are great. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and it looks like yours are thriving.

Thank you, it’s a shame they don’t last longer, they are beautiful!
