I’m going to try this — heading to dick blick’s to get some supplies tomorrow, and my paper is coming from papermojo soon! My only issue is that I don’t understand the part in your directions about the “kettle stitch”: “When you get to A3, tuck the needle under the stitch passing from A1 to A2 and pass the needle through the loop in the thread, forming a knot (called a kettle stitch)”. Can you help me to understand this step? There isn’t a stitch between A1 and A2, because you have a knot at A1, right? And later on, you will have stitches between As (and Fs), but do you pass the needle under the previous A to A stitch before you make the next one? I don’t know if I’m making any sense. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me!

Your books are absolutely gorgeous and you can tell by your work just how much you obviously enjoy making them. The other thing that caught my eye was your surname “Aldred”. This was my Birth name before I was married and I actually have a sister named Dianne. I live in Victoria Australia and My Grandfather Sydney Aldred was born in Manchester England, but he migrated to Australia. Who knows! maybe somewhere down the line we could actually be related. Your photographs in your slide shows are beautiful and “WOW” you certainly have two very handsome sons. I have a 35 year old son and a 36 year old daughter myself.
