Late reply but here's hoping you and yours have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I finally got the cards sent but after a panic when I lost my address book - wretched thing.

Weather has improved slightly here, now just constantly grey and freezing but not as cold as your weather fortunately. I am a bit of a hothouse flower and next year I plan to be in the sun for Christmas!

Loved the Dave Walker flow chart. I have discovered (after more than twenty years of not sending Xmas cards) that some people feel obliged to send cards anyway!

I admit that I now send ecards: emails with a special Christmas picture. No, not of me and husband and cat -- usually Beeston, the intrepid exploring bear that you met when we had coffee.

I'd attach this year's here but I'm not sure how to do it!

Sorry about the weather: here it's just cold -- really cold. Frankly I'll take the -50 C. (including windchill) over howling gales and torrential rain at almost freezing temperatures. I lived in a Maritime climate once (two years in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) and have never been so bone-chillingly cold in my entire life!

Wishing you a very happy Christmas and no grandchildren too soon. (I think you would make a smashing granny!)

Cheers :}

It is a brilliant flowchart - and one I would have drawn had I thought of it! Dave Walker has lots of cartoons that he allows people to use on their blogs. They are all hilarious :-)

I've been trying to think of a plausible reason for not sending cards but failed (and sad to say I do like receiving them!) The Royal Mail was threatening to go on strike and I cheered but they have settled the dispute so having no excuse, I finally caved in and bought some yesterday. Just have to write them now.....

I've tried guessing. It always worked when my boys lived at home with me but once they moved out, I have no idea what they have already so it is much more difficult. I always think boys are much more difficult to buy for anyway :-)

Perfect flowchart of the logic of Christmas cards. You should submit this to graphjam.com! We didn't send out any cards. So we're following the logic on the right. Happy Holidays!

Great Post, I just love your drawing it's very funny. Unlike you, I try to guess what my relatives want for Christmas, I never asked them what they want. It makes them more surprised that they get what they want.
