Your work is amazing. I love it...

You are right about book cloth being expensive - enough to cover a coffin - now that would be pricey :-) I am always on the look out for lovely book cloths. Dennis Yuen at Cailun.info uses some gorgeous stuff but he is in New York so I suppose as usual there is much bigger choice there.

I have emailed you about the courses you run - I am very interested...

I have shopped for good book cloth in the UK. Falkiners are ok but expensive and one has to take their descriptions of what you are buying with care.... sometimes. I make my own book cloth.

I have seen some of the same 'Book Cloths' covering coffins in Japan !

Kim - I loved the film. It goes a bit pear shaped at the end but it is so powerful that even that didn't matter somehow.... won't say too much as don't want to give anything away!

Seeing all the Oscar's films before the big night - what a great idea! Would definitely make the night more interesting.

Daniel D-L is up against gorgeous George Clooney so I am a bit torn....

Have a great movie watching weekend.

PS I think the portrait is wonderful, especially as you have painted it in greyscale which must be much more difficult....and with a dodgy arm! Glad to hear it is on the mend :- X

the book has a real cornflower blue touch to it Diane ...and I think the contrast between the cover and the inside is great !!
I can see why they call it country dance as it looks like dance notation :)
I have loved Daniel Day Lewis ever since I saw him in "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" and My Left Foot....
lol... I gather you really really recommend this film judging by your cartoon pic :D
My Mum went to see it last week and the Bucket List yesterday...she always makes a promise to see all of the films before the Oscars....she loved There Will be Blood too !!
I will be backing him for sure...
I loved the Gangs of New York and I have the CD of the soundtrack...fantastic music...
we will be having a movie marathon at home tomorrow (with popcorn) to catch up as we have a big screen TV and Alexander gets us all the latest films through his work..I can't wait !!
have a great weekend and thanks for your supportive comments at my blog :=X

Teresa - I watch mainly movies on TV at home too - I just love movies. We paid a premium for better seats at the cinema the other night - and they were more uncomfortable than the cheaper ones. At least I can sprawl out on my sofa at home!

DM - There isn't THAT much blood actually - not like 'the last Daniel Day- Lewis film I saw - 'Gangs of New York' - that was swimming in the stuff - horrible. I had my eye closed for most of the film :-)
